National Account Manager – Wholesale

Foodservice Wholesale

Location: Homebased
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 p.a. + 15% bonus, car, medical, life, contributory pension, 25 days holiday

Following an internal promotion an exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join their thriving UK business as a National Account Manager in the Foodservice division – managing and developing National Distributor/ Wholesaler relationships with national, regional and large independent route to market wholesalers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Head of UK & Ireland Foodservice Channel
  • Responsible for the delivery of Volumes & Profit of major Distributors & National End Users
  • Participate with Senior Management in creation of strategy, volume and profit targets
  • Manage existing Distributor/ Wholesale accounts such as Bidvest, Brakes and Booker
  • Full P&L responsibility, including the management of budgets, KPI’s, forecasting, promotional execution, range selection and implementation of service levels
  • General account management – pricing, logistics, NPD, reporting etc.

Candidate Requirements

  • Account Management experience of Distributors/ Wholesalers like Bidvest, Brakes, Booker etc.
  • An understanding of working with National End User Foodservice customers (HoReCa)
  • Degree educated or equivalent level ideal but not essential
  • Commercially minded with a good track record of sales achievement
  • Has sound effective influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong IT literacy e.g. Excel and SAP/databases etc
  • Pro-active, “can-do” attitude, resilient, autonomous and driven
  • Effective communication skills – written and verbal including presentation skills
  • Professional, results driven and strives for the pursuit of excellence

This position is home based however ideally you will be within easy reach of major UK motorway networks for comfortable domestic travel to various customer and office destinations around the UK.
